At one time Western North Carolina was dotted with small textile mills, producing blankets as well as woven fabric to be made into clothing and upholstery. As a tribute to the heritage of this area, the Olde Brick House is proud to be offering the products of one of the last surviving family owned U.S. textile mills. Purchasing an old textile mill and equipment that had been in use since the early 1900’s, this small family owned and operated business makes good use of old, outdated - even antique - power looms, with setups still painstakingly done by hand. Original designs from the 18th and 19th centuries are adapted and reproduced for 21st century use. The work of this mill can be seen at many historic sites and in several movies. With frequent changes in the product line, there’s always a reason to stop in.
